Moving BlackBerry Applications

December 26th, 2009

When you first get your new BlackBerry you will find many applications. Some are good (Facebook, MSN MEssenger etc. Others are pretty crappy.  This tutorial (with images) will show you the fundamentals of how to move an application 2 ways. Firstly from one folder to another and then within a folder.  Follow the instructions below as a rough guide, the images were taken with a Storm 2 but the actions are the same with pretty much all the devices.

1. Navigate to the Home Screen

Step 1

2. Go to the Main Menu and then the folder that contains the application you need moved.

Step 1-04

3. Once in the required folder, select the application by highlighting it with your cursor or touching it lightly on the touchscreen models. Once you’ve done this press the BlackBerry Button and select Move To Folder.

Step 1-05

4. Select the folder you want to move the app too (this will most likely be the Home Screen)

Step 1-06

5. The app is now moved.  If you want to move the application within that folder do so by highlighting the app again and pressing the BlackBerry Button. Then select Move as below.

Step 1-08

6. The icon will then have four arrows around it indicating it is ready to be moved, find the location you would like it to be and select it.

Step 1-107. Done, the application is now moved, you will notice that because I selected one of the first 8 icons it has shown up on my Home Screen in position 4.  This is a setting of the theme you are using so if it doesn’t show up here but it does on the Main Menu don’t be surprised.

Enjoy,  If you liked it share it below.
