BlackBerry Storm – Today Clean Hybrid

February 22nd, 2009

This is my second attempt at a Storm Theme, really just an addaption of my first actually. I liked the idea of having the today functions on the home screen but also wanted my most used icons on the front screen so here it is. As with my first theme all constructive critisism is welcomed in the forum thread. Once again I have increased the button and menu text size to help with the touch screen.

BlackBerry Storm – Today Clean Theme

February 21st, 2009

This is my first go at creating a theme for the Blackberry Storm. The software being used is still in Beta testing so it may be a little buggy. Please use the forum thread to post any issues.

today-clean-home

today-clean-main-menu

Features:

  • Preview of the 2 most recent email messages with subject (may be truncated depending on length)
  • Preview of the next 2 appointments in the calendar
  • Tilting to landscape will open the main menu from the home screen
  • Carrier information on the home screen has been removed
  • Larger text in the Contacts screen and the Blackberry menu

This theme can be only be downloaded OTA (over the air) by directing your BlackBerry Browser to:

http://phonebuzz.net/java/BB-Storm/CleanToday/com_plazmic_theme_TodayClean.jad

The easiest way to do this is to copy it into an email and send it to the device. Once the email arrives follow the link and it will self install.

To download this theme point your BlackBerry Browser to http://m.phonebuzz.net/bb-themes/storm/storm.html and select the appropriate OS.

If you liked this theme why not check out our other Storm Themes here.

Website Review Zedge.net

February 9th, 2009

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Zedge it is well worth a look. Over the last year I have used it numerous times for themes, ringtones and SMS tones.

zedge-dot-netBasically it’s a site that offers file sharing for mobile content. None of the downloads cost anything with the exception of data charges if you choose to download items OTA (over the air). Keep in mind that because you are getting free content there will be plenty of advertising but hey that’s how they fund the site. Below is an example of a ringtone downloaded to my PC for transfer:

First step select ringtone, theme or wallpaper etc. and search for your keyword. In my example I am searching for 24 (I’m a tragic fan o fthe TV series).

Blackberry Bold Theme – No Carrier Black

February 5th, 2009

No Carrier Black themeIf you’re anything like me you like your handset to be simple and understated. Well if this is you I have found the theme for you. Currently this theme is  available on various sites but I downloaded it from http://www.blackberrythemes.net/. I have been using this theme for over 2 weeks now without any  issues. Another item of note is that this theme removes the carrier information from all the main screens it keeps the coverage indicator though.
